Core integration
  • Core integration: Discord — Post Sazabi issue alerts to Discord channels with Add to Discord or a channel webhook URL.
Each connection method has its own setup and permissions. Connecting one method does not enable the others.

About

Connecting Discord lets Sazabi post issue alerts to Discord channels. Discord is a shared notification channel: each channel you add is its own connection, and a project’s delivery rules choose which alerts each channel gets. Each alert is one message with the issue summary, a severity color, and a link back to the issue in Sazabi. Sazabi never pings @everyone, @here, roles, or users, even when issue text contains a mention.

Prerequisites

  • Manage Webhooks permission in the Discord server you add a channel from.
  • Organization admin access in Sazabi.

Set up in the dashboard

1

Open the Discord integration

In the dashboard, go to Settings > Integrations > Discord.
2

Add to Discord

Click Add to Discord. On Discord’s screen, pick the server and the channel for alerts, then authorize. Discord creates a webhook for that channel and sends you back to Sazabi. Repeat to add more channels.
3

Send a test

Open the new connection and click Send test. A sample alert appears in the channel.
4

Add a delivery rule

On the project Settings > Notifications page, add a delivery rule that routes an event type to the Discord channel. See Route notifications.

Set up with the CLI

The CLI, the public API, and Terraform connect a channel with its webhook URL instead. In Discord, open Server Settings > Integrations > Webhooks, create a webhook for the channel, and copy its URL. Read it from an environment variable rather than pasting it inline:
Sazabi checks the URL with Discord before it saves the connection. Adding the same webhook again updates its connection instead of creating a second one. Then add a delivery rule (sazabi notifications delivery-rules create; see Route notifications).

Notifications

Use Discord as a delivery destination for issue events: on the project Settings > Notifications page, add a delivery rule that routes an event type to a Discord channel. See Route notifications.

Verify

Click Send test on the connection page and confirm the sample alert appears in the channel. With a delivery rule pointing at the channel, trigger a test issue and confirm the alert arrives within a minute.

Troubleshooting

Connection shows needs attention — The webhook was deleted in Discord, or its token was reset. Add the channel to Discord again, then point the project’s delivery rules at the new connection. No message in Discord — Confirm the delivery rule names both the event type and the Discord channel, and that no condition excludes the issue. Messages arrive late during an incident — Discord limits how fast one webhook can post. Sazabi retries after the wait Discord asks for, and digests bursts of alerts.
