# Linear

> Connect Linear so the Sazabi agent can file issues into your Linear workspace.

## Supported capabilities

MCP connectorCore integration

* **MCP connector**: [Linear](https://docs.sazabi.com/catalogs/mcp-connectors/linear.md) — Give the Sazabi agent tools to browse and manage issues, projects, and roadmaps in your Linear workspace.
* **Core integration**: [Linear](https://docs.sazabi.com/catalogs/integrations/linear.md#core-integration) — Connect Linear so the Sazabi agent can file issues into your Linear workspace.

Each connection method has its own setup and permissions. Connecting one method does not enable the others.

## Core integration

## About

Connecting Linear lets the Sazabi agent create issues in your Linear workspace — turning an investigation into a tracked ticket without leaving Sazabi. Linear is an **issue tracker** integration.

The connection authorizes through Linear OAuth and acts on behalf of the authorizing workspace, so tickets Sazabi files appear in Linear attributed to the connected app.

Linear is also available as an [MCP connector](https://docs.sazabi.com/catalogs/mcp-connectors/linear.md) — a separate way to give the agent Linear tools.

## Prerequisites

* A Linear workspace you can authorize a connection for.
* Organization admin access in Sazabi.

## Set up in the dashboard

**Step 1**

### Open the Linear integration

In the dashboard, go to [**Settings > Integrations > Linear**](https://app.sazabi.com/settings/integrations/linear).

**Step 2**

### Authorize the connection

Start the connection. Sazabi redirects you to Linear to authorize access;
approve it, and Linear redirects you back to Sazabi.

## Set up with the CLI

You can also start the Linear connection with the [Sazabi CLI](https://docs.sazabi.com/reference/cli.md) (installed and authenticated — see [CLI reference](https://docs.sazabi.com/reference/cli/integrations.md)).

Linear connects through an OAuth browser flow — the CLI has no `--credentials` for it. Run:

```bash theme={"system"}
sazabi integrations connect linear
```

The command opens Linear's authorization in your browser (sign in to the dashboard as the same user), then waits for you to approve access for your workspace. `--json` changes only the output: the command still opens the browser and waits for the flow to finish, then prints the resulting connection as JSON:

```bash theme={"system"}
sazabi integrations connect linear --json
```

Run `sazabi integrations list --provider linear` to confirm the connection.

## Tasks

During an investigation the Sazabi agent can create a Linear issue and keep it current — updating fields, moving it through your workflow states, commenting on it, and linking it back to the Sazabi issue or thread — so the work lands in the tracker your team already uses.

## Connected account

You can also connect your personal Linear account under [**Settings > Connected accounts**](https://app.sazabi.com/settings/connected-accounts) so the agent acts as you in Linear. When you have a personal connection Sazabi uses it first and falls back to this organization integration otherwise. See [Connected accounts](https://docs.sazabi.com/guides/administer/connected-accounts.md).

## Work with the agent in Linear

Linear is an **agent surface** — a place you can start an agent thread and read its response without leaving Linear. Assign the Sazabi agent to an issue, or mention it in an issue comment, with a free-form request; it investigates using your project's data and posts its response back in Linear. Send follow-up prompts in the same thread to continue. This keeps the work where your team already tracks it — you ask from Linear, and the answer lands in Linear.

## Verify

Open [**Settings > Integrations > Linear**](https://app.sazabi.com/settings/integrations/linear) and confirm the connection reads **connected** for your workspace. Then, in a thread, ask the agent to file a test issue into Linear, and confirm it appears in your Linear workspace. Delete the test issue in Linear afterward.

## Troubleshooting

**Connection shows needs attention** — The OAuth authorization may have been revoked in Linear, or the token expired. Reconnect from [**Settings > Integrations > Linear**](https://app.sazabi.com/settings/integrations/linear).

**Agent can't create an issue** — Confirm the connection is still connected and that the authorized workspace is the one you expect.
